Vintage 12-Strand Red Bead Torsade Necklace

This vintage 12-strand necklace is beaded and has a round box closure made of a gold tone metal, accented by a red plastic cabochon (pics 4, 5). The necklace is strung with red cylindrical beads glass seed beads. I'm not sure if it's the beads, the cords, or a result of time and wear, but the strands are very soft and pliable, not at all rigid or stiff. The strands are all twisted together in a torsade style but the necklace can also be worn without twisting it if you like. There is normal wear, most visible as superficial marks in the clasp metal.
