crones_cottage7It is not unfortunately. The metal ring acts as a clip for keys or purse accessories. It has like a clasp that open and closes.

crones_cottage7I was going to try to add a pic to the message but it doesn’t have an option for that. The ring I don’t think is original to the bag. It was just hooked onto the hardware for the handle and can be removed.
