* Purchased in the 1990s. Selling (with a heavy heart) because it doesn't fit anymore.
* Ellen Tracy was founded in 1949. In 1962, Linda Allard joined the company, now aimed at the new career women of the 1970s and became known for high-quality fabrics and impeccable tailoring.
* In 1984 Linda’s name was added to the label. The company was hugely successful, hiring many of the 80s supermodels for its ad campaigns.
* The firm was sold to Liz Claiborne in 2003. Allard retired and removed her name from the label, and Ellen Tracy went lower end.
