SOOYA STUDIO – THE OVERTURE SERIES | SPOTS MORI Meet Spots Mori, one of the wonderfully quirky characters from SOOYA Studio’s The Overture Series — SOOYA’s first blind-box figure series. The collection brings SOOYA’s distinctive art style into miniature designer figures that look as though they stepped straight out of a slightly strange, beautifully illustrated vintage children’s book. Spots Mori is especially adorable with her mint-green polka-dot dress, striped stockings, rosy cheeks and wonderfully unimpressed little expression. Mori characters are known for their vintage-inspired clothing, and this design really captures that storybook aesthetic. The standout detail has to be her oversized chocolate-brown bunny headpiece. From the front it appears almost like a whimsical rabbit-eared bonnet, but turn Mori around and you discover an adorable little bunny face and paws peeking over the back of her head! The sculpt is full of personality from every angle, right down to the tiny bow and fluffy bunny tail on the back of her dress. SOOYA Studio has a very different aesthetic from many mainstream blind-box lines — sweet and nostalgic, but with slightly moody expressions and an offbeat storybook/art-doll quality that makes the characters instantly recognizable. The Overture Series includes 12 regular designs plus a secret and features SOOYA characters including Mori, Ban, Emo, Boo and Bbangbba Rabbit.
