A beautiful piece of Italian handbag history, this vintage Roberta di Camerino structured leather bag appears consistent with the house's mid-century designs, circa 1960s to early 1970s. Founded in Venice by Giuliana Coen Camerino, Roberta di Camerino became celebrated for innovative handbags distinguished by architectural shapes, luxurious materials and distinctive hardware. This petite two-tone leather bag reflects the doctor's-bag-inspired silhouette associated with the house's iconic Bagonghi era, with a structured frame, rounded kiss-lock closure and elegant top handle. Crafted in black leather with rich cognac-brown leather sides and trim, the bag features signature gold-tone details including the "R" emblem and Roberta di Camerino plaque. The removable long strap allows it to be carried on the shoulder or crossbody in addition to the petite top handle. The interior is fabric lined, with leather facing around the structured frame opening and multiple interior pockets, and bears the gold Roberta di Camerino® signature.
