Vintage Sgraffito Studio Pottery Bowl 6.5" Fish Motif Signed Brown Glaze

This vintage studio pottery bowl is a substantial and attractive piece in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The stoneware has a highly textured, speckled clay body with a rich brown glaze applied to both the interior and exterior. The decoration features a detailed fish motif incised or carved using the sgraffito technique, revealing the darker body beneath the glaze. The fish design wraps around the exterior and a matching, though slightly obscured, design is pressed into the bottom interior. The thick base is unglazed and signed with a hand-incised name, possibly "S. Taylor" or a similar name. This bowl is perfect as a decorative serving dish, a large soup bowl, or a collectible item of rustic ceramic art with a nautical or natural theme. It measures approximately 6.5 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall.
