Small Sad Iron Black Wood Handle Miniature Flat Iron Primitive Decor Antique

Antique small sad iron featuring a classic pointed ironing surface, metal body and black-painted wooden handle. This early household iron has a wonderful primitive appearance, with naturally aged metal, a contrasting dark wooden grip and a traditional compact sad iron form. Its smaller size makes it especially attractive for display with antique laundry collectibles, primitive household pieces and collections of early irons. The manufacturer is currently unknown, with no identifying maker's mark visible in the photographed areas. Based on its construction and styling, I would conservatively estimate it to the early 20th century, approximately 19001930. The iron retains substantial age-related character, including oxidation, surface discoloration, scratches, finish wear and wear to the painted wooden handle. An old area of label or adhesive residue remains on the sole. A charming piece for an antique iron collection, primitive home display, laundry room decor or collection of early household implements.
