Fendi Rare Vintage S.A.S. Roma Embossed Pictorial Leather Doctor Bag

This is not the typical vintage Fendi seen on the resale market. Extensive searching has not turned up another example with this exact embossed artwork, making this an especially intriguing piece for a vintage Fendi collector. The bag has a classic structured Boston/doctor bag silhouette with double rolled leather handles, gold-tone hardware and beautiful natural patina developed over decades. The combination of the Fendi S.A.S. plaque, early-style Roma 1925 hardware and gold-stamped numeric production/serial marking is characteristic of older Fendi production. Based upon these features, this piece is believed to date approximately to the 1980s, although the exact year and collection have not been independently confirmed. This is a true vintage handbag and shows genuine age and wear consistent with its era. The leather displays natural creasing, patina, variations in coloration, surface wear and other signs of previous use. Hardware shows age-related wear as well.
