Rare Old Chiming Harmony Baoding Balls, Chinese Health Balls in Original Box

Up for auction are these rare hand-painted glass balls featuring a green landscape with waterfalls and mountains design, commonly used as a Chinese Baoding health or meditation ball. Mint green with teal accents, and beautifully hand painted with images of water falls and mountains. Both nestled in a red silk brocade box, with red padding. Originating in the city of Baoding, these tactile, enamelled balls make a soothing chiming sound when rolled in your palms. Traditionally used in Chinese medicine to support flexibility and circulation of the fingers, the technique was developed to relax the mind and keep your 'yin and yang' in balance. This set comes in a red, fabric-lined padded box for storage and protection. The box shows some wear but the balls are in great condition.  Just love the soothing jingle sounds they make.
