​Vtg 1940s Genuine Corde Black Clutch Bag • Carved Amber Bakelite Art Deco Clasp

Stunning 1940s Art Deco Genuine Corde Evening Clutch ​Material: Black Gimp Cordé on fabric; Carved Amber/Butterscotch Bakelite clasp. ​Style: Large oversized envelope clutch with concentric geometric cord patterns. ​Features: Iconic Art Deco "stepped" carved clasp; attached interior coin purse; Genuine Corde label. ​Condition: Excellent vintage exterior condition. The cord work is tight and clean. The interior shows wear/fraying near the snap fastener (see photos); however, the bag is still fully functional and displays beautifully. The Bakelite closure is substantially large and heavy. Has been tested with formula 409 and is positive for Bakelite. Please see all pictures for details. Purse is very black on the outside and does not show much wear to the outside surface. Please note that inside does have discoloration of the material and fading, fraying around the eyelit closure hole, and pocket. All closures work properly.
