Vintage 90s Abstract Art Maxi Skirt – Custom Made, Multicoloured-gathered A-line

Made in Québec in the early 1990s, this gathered A-line maxi skirt is cut from a multi-print fabric with 2 coordinated sections: the main body print & a structured hem design. The body part is an abstract art pattern made of irregular, thick marker-like shapes in warm & cool tones including rust, burgundy, purple, royal blue, forest green, grey, creamy yellow on black. Hues vary with light. Some shapes are outlined while others blend into the background. There are subtle repeats in the print that do not appear symmetrically arranged, especially since the fabric falls into gathers. The hem section (same colours as the body) displays the fabric’s engineered border: 3 horizontal rows of geometric motifs, each row formed of a distinct repeating shape.
