Handmade Vintage Adras Silk Boho Ivory Kalamkari Maxi Dress- size S

Effortless bohemian maxi dress ( will likely come to your calves or ankles depending on height) in ivory with vibrant multicolor ikat and animal motifs. Lightweight, flowy adras silk fabric with a flattering fitted waist with scalloped details and scoop neckline. The adras silk each thread has been dyed so it as vibrantly colored on the inside as the outside. Adras silk is a fabric made from silk and cotton dyed and then woven on looms. This was probably a more modern version of the fabric based on the wider panels as older adras silk is done on narrower looms. Short sleeves with red hand studded trim add an artisanal touch. Perfect for warm-weather outings and casual events. This dress features no tags or labels so assessments on its cloth were done by researching its fabric and fabrication. The dress was machine sewn and includes modern padded bra cups, so I believe it was created no earlier than the 60’s but probably more recently than that. It measure 14” across at the waist and 16” across p2p, it has generous seam allowance and could be let out a few inches by a skilled tailor. It seems to have be the style of a kalamkari festival gown that has been slightly modernized with the scalloping and keyhole tie back, for a fresher modern look. It is a gorgeous piece
