Rare Vintage Coach Bonnie Cashin 1970’s Frame Pouch

The bag itself is in great condition, made of some of the softest leather I’ve ever felt, although there are a few callouts all of which are pictured: • The strap has a few darkened lines adjacent the holes due to the brass buckles being pressed against the leather for 50 years • There are 4 pen marks • The kiss lock frame is darkened from use and there are a few white marks/scuffs that came with the bag, as well as 4 minuscule cuts • There are a few small ink splotches on the bottom of back panel and bottom panel and adjacent on the interior as thats where they originated from. There are also a few small ink splotches on the interior that did not permeate through. • The interior also has three splotches of a hardened substance (did not permeate through) which I’m assuming came from the likes of something sticky like a lollipop. In being transparent and keeping good character, I will say she does have a smell. Now I want to emphasize that I have been collecting leather designer bags for 20 years and I’ve dealt with pretty much every smell you could possibly think of. This smell is an old, aged, caramelized leather scent with a twinge of sweetness. It’s not smoke. It’s not pet. It’s not body odor. It’s not mold. It’s not mildew. And to be honest I have smelt this in quite a few vintage Coach bags. I’m assuming this scent comes from age, natural suede interior and possibly interacting with our hands natural oils.
