*Straight out of a fairytale, reminiscent of Cinderella's carriage, antique white and gold, semi-abstract trinket or jewelry box by Haviland Limoges France.
*Update: While useful as a trinket box, this piece is a lidded butter dish, on the Marseille form. The gilt pattern is Schleiger 421. The backstamp was used from 1888-1896. The inner tray was used to separate butter from the ice, and water that would leak from home made butter made in that time period. Finding the complete set, is rather rare.
*Gorgeous as a special gift, especially for mothers, anniversaries, birthdays, engagements and weddings
*Perfect touch of antique opulence for your boudoir, dresser, or nightstand
*Not sure what the little tray inside is for, but it's included (it's a strainer).
*Late 1800s/very early 1900s (educated guess, now confirmed late 1800s)
*Gorgeous antique condition, free from chips and breaks, free from crazing, gold trim is in beautiful shape
*A bit of discoloration and drying, underneath the lid rim, and the top rim of the bottom piece, where the china was left unglazed, completely hidden when the box is closed
*Please see all pictures as they are a vital part of the description 🙏
*Ships with care from a pet-free/smoke-free home
