Fabulous vintage 1950s-era tartan plaid metal bread box in exceptionally nice condition for its age. This large hinged bread keeper features a striking red, deep green, black and golden-yellow tartan/plaid lithographed exterior with a coordinating warm yellow interior. A circular arrangement of original ventilation holes at the back provides airflow—the classic design of a mid-century bread keeper. What really sets this one apart is its condition. The plaid remains remarkably bright and crisp, the box retains its shape beautifully, the hinged lid operates properly, and the interior is unusually clean for a vintage metal bread box of this age.
