Extremely rare and highly collectible original 1983 Ralph Lauren hand-knit wool sweater! This sweater was featured in the Ralph Lauren Cosmetics ad (shot by legendary fashion photographer Bruce Weber) as part of the iconic Fall/Winter 1983 Ski/Winter Campaign. A true piece of fashion history and a Holy Grail find for vintage Ralph Lauren / RL collectors! Hand knit in Great Britain, this piece features detailed alpine skiers, ski cabin / lodge, and mountain scene with the signature "RL83" knit monogram near the hem. Features heavy-gauge pure wool, silver-tone intricate designed buttons at the left shoulder, and thick ribbed trim. Bold multicolor intarsia in red, blue, brown, tan, yellow, white & green. Chunky knit for warm layering. Classic vintage preppy Ralph Lauren seasonal style. Size: Women’s Medium. Condition: Excellent pre-owned. no stains, holes or odors. From a smoke-free home.
