Vintage Italy Papier Mache Angel Orchestra 8 Musical Angels Christmas MCM

Wonderful collection of 8 vintage Italian papier-mâché hanging musical angels, each playing a different instrument and together creating a charming angel orchestra. These beautiful dimensional figures feature hand-painted faces, flowing fabric-like robes, wings and individually crafted musical instruments. Five of the eight angels retain their original red "MADE IN ITALY" stickers, which is especially nice to find in a group this size. The angels appear to be mid-century Italian pieces, likely dating to approximately the 1940s-1950s based on their construction and styling, although the exact age and maker are unknown. Please note that these are delicate vintage papier-mâché pieces and condition varies from angel to angel. They show expected age-related surface wear, discoloration, crazing/cracking and other signs of age. A couple of the wings have areas of old repair and/or separation/breakage. One angel has a broken hanging line and will need to be restrung before hanging. Other small imperfections and evidence of age may be present due to the fragile handmade nature of the pieces. Despite their imperfections, they display beautifully as a group and have wonderful authentic vintage character. I have intentionally left them as found rather than attempting restoration or aggressive cleaning. Includes all 8 musical angels shown. Sold as is. Thank you so very much for looking!
