The Legend of Sleepy Hollow retold and illustrated by Will Moses, signed copy by illustrator, Hardcover Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving Retold, illustrated and signed by Will Moses The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, originally published in 1820, is a gothic horror story which tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a young gentleman who moves to the small town of Sleepy Hollow (NY) to take up the position of local schoolmaster. Remember the tale? It has wafted down the river valley for more than a hundred years. Especially around Sleepy Hollow. Remember the tall and gangly schoolteacher, Ichabod Crane, who always had his considerable nose in a book-usually a book of ghost stories -and who wooed the beautiful and spirited Katrina Van Tassel? Remember? Remember how Ichabod lost Katrina to Brom Bones one fallish night, and how he and his bony horse, Gun- powder, were chased that same night by a ghostly horseman who carried his head in his hands? Remember Will Moses, great grandson of folk artist Grandma Moses, grew up in the Hudson Valley not far from the setting of the story. This is his first illustrated book for children. His paintings now can be found in collections of the White House, the Smithsonian Institution, and the NY State Museum, among other venues. full color clipped jacket The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow #headlesshorseman ichabod spooky halloween creepy story signed copy rip van winkle Kids Toys Learning Toys Kids Other Home Accents Coffee Table Books
