Up for sale is an exquisite antique German porcelain covered sugar bowl featuring the historic E & R (Ebeling & Reuss) importer mark stamped on the base. Dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1920s), this Edwardian-era piece features a highly reflective, iridescent lusterware glaze over a beautifully lobed, scalloped porcelain body.It is elegantly decorated on both sides with detailed hand-painted clusters of blooming pink and yellow cabbage roses framed by soft green foliage. The ornate double side handles and coordinating lid finial are heavily accented with bright gold gilt trim. The underside bears the authentic red stamped maker's mark alongside hand-painted production numbers "15/40". Condition (AS IS):This piece is sold in lovely antique display condition with a structural flaw. There is a noticeable hairline crack running vertically down the interior lip of the main rim (see close-up photos). It is stable for display but the bowl should not be used for food or liquids. The exterior body, floral paintings, double handles, and lid are free of chips. The gold gilt trim shows only minor, age-appropriate wear.
