This beautiful vintage crystal bead necklace features a long 58-inch strand of faceted glass beads, individually hand knotted on silk cord. The strand drapes elegantly and can be worn long, doubled, or layered for a classic vintage look. Each bead is hand-cut with softly varied facets that catch the light beautifully. Under magnification the beads show subtle iridescent flashes of violet, blue, and rose tones across the facets, giving the necklace wonderful sparkle and depth. The taupe silk knotting behind the clear smoky crystal gives the beads a warm champagne tone when worn. The necklace is constructed in the traditional manner with a knot between each bead to protect the glass and provide a graceful drape. The bead cutting and construction are consistent with older European crystal bead strands, commonly produced in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) during the early to mid-20th century. Details • Length: 58 inches • Bead size: approximately 7.2 mm wide x 6.4 mm tall • Material: faceted glass crystal beads • Construction: individually hand knotted on silk cord • Color: smoky clear crystal with subtle iridescent flashes • Style: long rope / flapper style necklace
