Striking matched pair of vintage Imperial Glass bookends from the Asian-inspired Cathay collection. The pair represents an Empress and Lu-Tung Mandarin, each rendered in richly colored jade-green pressed glass with detailed facial features, robes and traditional headdresses.
Both pieces bear the molded Lenox-Imperial "LIG" maker's mark. This mark was used during the Lenox ownership period, dating the pair to approximately the 1970s or early 1980s. These are genuine Imperial glass pieces in the jade-green color—not natural carved jade.
Approximate measurements of each:
* Height: 7¼–7½ inches
* Width: approximately 5¼ inches
* Depth: approximately 3 inches
Substantial and beautifully detailed, these bookends are functional as well as decorative. They would make an excellent addition to a vintage-glass collection, bookshelf, office, library or Hollywood Regency–inspired interior.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light surface wear, mold lines and natural variations associated with pressed-glass production. Please carefully review all photographs, including the maker's mark and close-up images, for the most accurate representation of condition.
