Exquisite antique 1920s Art Deco dance compact, featuring an ornate scalloped silhouette, intricate floral detailing, engine-turned textured panels and a romantic floral urn motif with blue accents. The reverse showcases a beautiful radiating engine-turned sunburst design. Opens to reveal the original mirror and a clever multi-compartment vanity interior, including a separate hinged inner compartment traditionally used for powder and rouge. Original white powder and pink cosmetic residue remain, preserving wonderful evidence of its historic use. Includes attached finger ring and 3” chain for carrying while dancing or socializing. Good antique condition with scuffs, patina, oxidation and tone loss consistent with age. Only the exterior sides were gently cleaned of loose powder; patina and cosmetic residue were intentionally left undisturbed to preserve its original character and history.
