WWII Walt Disney U.S. Navy VP-43 Patrol Squadron Mickey Donald Dixon Pencil Box

Vintage Walt Disney Productions U.S. Navy VP-43 Patrol Squadron 43 presentation/storage box featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck artwork. The exterior label reads "VP-43 U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron 43" and "© Walt Disney Productions" with Dixon U.S.A. markings. The box has a red textured exterior with a patriotic red, white and blue striped interior. It opens to reveal divided storage/display sections and a pull-out lower drawer. A very unusual piece combining vintage Disney character artwork with U.S. Naval aviation memorabilia. Based on the construction, graphics and squadron association, this appears to be a period military-era piece, but the exact date has not been independently verified. Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with noticeable age-related wear. Exterior has edge/corner wear, scuffing, discoloration and surface loss. Interior shows age, dust/soiling and some spotting.
