This art deco era riviere necklace is truly magnificent. It features carnelian-colored glass squares that have been beautifully mounted in silver tone, open-back bezel settings. Possibly Czech in origin. Exceptional piece. Details: ***Measurements (approximate): 15.5” long. Stones are 0.5” x 0.5”. ***Materials: Glass. Bezel settings are a solid, silver tone, non-magnetic base metal but not sterling. Closure is silver plated brass. ***Color: Setting is silver. Glass is “carnelian colored”- it is difficult to describe- please see all photos because it changes color from pale, opaque, red-brown, to a darker rust red, to a brighter, semi-transparent red depending on light. ***Markings: None legible. ***Condition: Good preowned older vintage to antique condition (est. c. 1920’s to 1930’s). Shows signs of wear commensurate with age, including : scratches, tarnish, patina, verdegris, flea bites/chips, air bubbles visible in glass, and overall general wear. Spring ring closure has significant wear to silver plating with visible brass. Closure works great. This piece was built to last- it looks remarkable for 100 years! Ready to wear.
