VINTAGE Y2K BLACK MINI TRENCH COAT Y2K interpretation of the classic trench by Nine West. I purchased this in 2004 at the Nine West store in Covent Garden, London. The Black fabric has a subtle sheen that gives the coat a sophisticated, slightly dressier appearance while retaining that unmistakable minimalist Y2K aesthetic. The coat has a flattering feminine silhouette with a self-tie belt that cinches the waist, structured shoulders and a knee-skimming length. The dramatic oversized pointed collar flows into broad notched lapels, while storm-flap detailing across the upper chest and back gives it the traditional trench influence. Inner snaps secure the closure beneath the tie belt. Details include long sleeves with tabbed cuffs, angled front hip pockets, belt loops and the original matching fabric belt. It looks fantastic worn closed and tightly belted as almost a trench dress, or worn more casually open over a fitted top, mini skirt or slim trousers. For a strong Y2K look, pair it with knee-high pointed boots, a fitted black mini dress and a structured shoulder bag.
