I would not interpret the DLA-style number on it as meaning it was actually military-issued. From me... I had another version of this coat back in the early 2000's. As I am now 48 with disposable income, I decided to buy another which I found used on eBay. I would describe the coat to be in excellent condition considering it's age. No real signs of wear or tear. I size somewhere between a L and XL and I would describe this to be an XL as it has plenty of room. No odor whatsoever (as my wife is very sensitive about that). All in all, I would say it's the perfect jacket for a daily layer that can go almost anywhere.
