V. Gold Tone Heraldic Lion Emblem Pin

This vintage pin is made of a gold tone metal and has a non-locking c clasp closure. The pin is shaped like a shield with a rounded wing on either side. The center of the "shield" features a right-facing lion. I'm not 100% sure of what the lion is meant to represent in this context, as the lion passant (left facing) normally means sterling silver, which I do not believe is the case here.
