Beautiful vintage Ballantyne of Peebles cardigan, crafted in Scotland from 100% pure cashmere and made expressly for the historic Cave Shepherd & Co. Ltd. of Barbados. Features an ivory/cream ground with distinctive floral intarsia detailing, scattered accent motifs, genuine shell-style buttons, fine-gauge Scottish cashmere, and a classic short-sleeve/bracelet-sleeve silhouette. A wonderful example of vintage Ballantyne craftsmanship with an unusual retailer-specific label. Believed to date to approximately the 1960s. Condition: Good vintage pre-owned condition. The cashmere presents beautifully overall with a few small areas of age-related spotting/discoloration, including marks on the sleeve and lower front and a small interior mark concealed when buttoned.
