White Cotton Eyelet Nagajuban Kimono with Silk Obijime Waist Cord

I have only a couple of these wonderful white cotton eyelet Nagajuban Kimonos, and this one is too short on me for my liking so I’ve decided to list it. The size is just perfect for those who have a smaller frame and are shorter than average in stature, finding themselves getting lost in all of the voluminous fabric of most kimonos. The kimono features a gauze haneri, a protective covering that is traditionally hand-basted over the collar to protect it against soil, make up and sweat. While the stitches can be carefully removed, I usually choose to leave the haneri intact as I did with this one. The kimono measures 22” across from the back, underarm to underarm, and is 50” long. Easily hemmed if you need it shorter. 3/4 length sleeve. An authentic vintage Japanese piece that also lends a modern boho/organic vibe with its 100% Cotton eyelet fabric, making it quite unusual. Perfect robe for lounging or as layering piece for summer over jeans and a t-shirt. I can even envision it poolside, over a swimsuit. I am including a vintage braided silk Obijime cord with silken tassels from my collection, shown in the photos. For when you’d like to tie it securely around your waist for a more fitted, finished look. This one is stunning, in an ombré that moves from white to soft peach to a deeper coral, with gold metallic. You can also incorporate it into your everyday wardrobe — through the belt loops of your jeans with a white t-shirt, for example. Fun! Excellent Used Condition.
