Rojo Congo Philodendron My Rojo Congo could no longer bear the height, so it toppled over (right out of the planter, roots and all) and I had to cut it, creating this magnificent well rooted cutting. During the fall, it made its way through some rough terrain creating small scars throughout several of the leaves, but the scars aren’t harmful nor did it comprise its health. It is still a healthy beauty. Please see photos. ~28”wide x ~15” tall Largest leaf is 11.5” Smallest leaf is 8” Well rooted, top cutting from mother plant with six large sized leaves. New growth to come. Propogated in water and currently, growing in sphagnum moss, ready to be shipped and planted. I use a mix of orchid bark, peat, horticultural charcoal and perlite for my permanent growing medium. Most of my plants are grown in wide ceramic planters without a hole in the bottom of the planter, however, terracotta and ceramic planters with holes are just fine, as well. I water, approx., once a month with a bottle of spring water or rain water and only, occasionally, fertilize. Regular tap water works, but our water is, extremely, hard, so, it’s spring water or rain water (rain is scarce, here). Fast growing. Easily propagated. Extremely, easy to grow. Medium bright light requirement. I use morning light on some of my Philodendrons, afternoon light on others, and grow lights on those that I can’t provide enough light to; all grow well. Pet free, non-smoking, clean home.
