Estate find: Design & Craftsmanship Details • The Conchos & Buckle: Large, oval, scallop-edged silver discs (conchos) decorated with meticulous sunburst fan fluting and hand-stamped repoussé patterns. Each concho is set with a central, genuine turquoise cabochon secured by a serrated bezel. • The Spacers: Alternating between the large ovals are "butterfly" spacers, so named because their scalloped, vertical shape mimics butterfly wings. These are similarly stamped and set with turquoise. • The Backings: The copper bars are soldered to the backs of the silver pieces. The leather belt slides through these slides, which is a classic indicator of high-quality vintage construction. Circa 1970-1980 Total conchos: 6 Total butterflies: 6 Length of belt: 41 inches Total Weight: 13.2 ounces

nadine_gilkes@lisa_washburn There are not any initial stamps. According to AI, this is historically typical of a certain era of Native American silversmiths. However, there are pictorial stamps (symbols) on the reverse of each concho. From what I could see, a sunburst, a thunderbird and a bear claw (couldn’t make out all). I will post these close-ups.

nadine_gilkes@lisa_washburn …. I need to add that it may be just sunbursts- no other symbol. Due to its age and patina, it’s hard to tell.
