Large Vintage AshtrayTobaccorianaDelftBlauw Dutch Windmill
Delft-style pottery remains popular for its aesthetic appeal and association with Dutch heritage or anyone who loves blue and white pottery. The hand painting makes it especially charmining. With its typical Dutch windmill motif, it is not only functional, but decorative. Not a smoker? That's okay too. Vintage ashtrays are fast becoming a popular trend for their art qualities. They can be used as trinket trays, houseplant bases, to burn incense...with this ashtray's beautiful border and 4.5" space in the inside, it would be a great underplate for a wide pillar candle. HISTORY: Delftware, named after the city of Delft in the Netherlands, is a style of tin-glazed pottery that was produced from the 17th century onwards. It is most famously characterized by its blue and white decoration, often featuring landscapes, floral patterns, or biblical scenes. While not a rare antique, Delft-style pottery still remains popular for its aesthetic appeal. CONDITION: Pre-Owned. Great vintage shape with no chips, cracks or stains. There is just a bit of crazing, more visible on the back than the front. Please refer to pictures for additional details. Brand: Not Known Design: Dutch Windmill Scene w/ Delft Floral Border Material: Ceramic Colors: Blue & White Production: Mid 20th Century Size: Approx. 8" Diameter x 1.5" H Made in Holland.
