Beautiful, pristine mid-century modern (MCM) detachable Peter Pan style pearl collar necklace. Handcrafted in Japan during the 1950s, this gorgeous statement accessory features multi-sized faux pearls tightly beaded over a beautiful cream satin rayon backing. It features rows of round pearls offset by elegant teardrop pearl accents along the neckline. Perfect for adding a classic rockabilly, Audrey Hepburn, or "Old Money" aesthetic to cardigans, dresses, or crewneck sweaters. Provenance & Authenticity: Features its rare, crisp, original cloth tag reading: "Pearl Collars. 100% Imitation Pearl Ornamentation. Exclusive of Rayon Lining. W.P.L. #10360. Made in Japan." The W.P.L. number dates this piece precisely to the 1950s under the famous American fashion importer Baar & Beards, Inc. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. All pearls are securely intact with zero peeling or loss of luster coating. The cream rayon satin backing is clean and free of heavy staining.
