Designed by Harry Rolnickand with US Patent it is a Resistol self conforming hat. It is marked “Beaver Fifteen” with a “kitten finish”. In wearable condition with no cracks or obvious wear marks, it commands a high price. Due to the box not being pristine, it is listed at $200.

deadlyhandsomeFYI: this is a late 1950s hat (we know because the bow is on the back and this wasn’t used until then). The Fifteen is a desirable hat, but almost all collectors want the version with a wider brim and taller crown: the classic fedora style.

brindle189Thank you for letting me know and taking the time to respond. It was my husband’s uncle who owned the hat and my husband recently passed away so I can’t ask for details. He was a kid when his uncle passed away and left it for him since he was enthralled by a hat in a box. Very few show the original hat box. I have seen similar listed on several online sites, it is still valuable. Are you interested?
