A fine knit top in bordeaux, with a ruffle that begins at the throat and falls the whole length of the front, doubling back on itself at the placket so the trim reads as two depths rather than one. The color is a true bordeaux — a deep, clear wine red, with none of the brown that creeps into an aged burgundy — and in a matte pima cotton it holds that depth without the sheen silk would give it. Pima is a luxurious cotton, soft and faintly lustrous, and this was knitted in Peru, where the best of it is grown and where the knitting to match it has been done for a century. Lyocell adds drape, allowing the knit to gently fall rather than spring. That distinction is perfect for a ruffle, imbuing it with fluid, soft waves. The sleeves are long and close through the arm, then open into a small flounce at the wrist. It pulls on over the head; the V-neck closes with a hook-and-eye placket.
