Not just as a seller, but as an artisan, who creates beautiful pieces out of old, vintage,
unwanted, damaged or forgotten jewelry - but, also as a nail tech & salon boutique owner.
I retail my own boutique jewelry in my salon & also offered consignment for customers. I closed down during the pandemic & after I chose to reopen, things just weren't the same. After 30 years of doing nails, I decided to retire in 2022, things changed a lot because of covid-19.

@lorik36 I only made one sale this week, it was a $68 dollar order. Her subtotal was 75, and I knocked off $7.00 and then she asked for reduced shipping and wanted to know if I could lower it to $60.00 ! I told her that if she needed to pull out some items and re-do her bundle, I will understand. I let her know this is my income, not just a hobby - my business is a nail salon/boutique. She wouldn't go into a salon and ask them to give her a 15.00 discount, right?

Yes, I get frustrated, too. I give big discounts and take a bit more off and give discount shipping and they decline. I only had 1 sale this week, too! All the parties kind of distract buyers sometimes, I think. I submit items but not everybody shares like I do. I’m on Medicare disability and this is my only supplement to pay my medical copays, prescriptions, etc.

Mind your business. Have you ever heard of supply and demand in economics? It’s a fact it’s discontinued and hard to find. One 3rd party seller on Walmart sells for less. I self for high. It will only get more and more expensive. My store my decision. I have hundreds of happy customers. You don’t wanna pay up doesn’t mean others won’t. Stop judging people and leaving nasty comments on other peoples closet. Poshmark prohibits harassment. 🙃

Today I was just thinking about all the times my ladies would bring me broken jewelry for me to repair for them. I would never charge them for my work - and in return, I was given jewelry and craft supplies as gifts for me to use in my jewelry designs. I appreciate your nice note and all the shares. 💕

Hi! Happy New Year 2023! I, too, retired in January 2022, and will rely on my soon to be first social security check in a couple weeks plus whatever I get through sales. I’ve been very frustrated lately with some of the ridiculous offers I’ve received. For example, I already deep-discount my items (which are in pristine condition), including Lois Hill jewelry — plus I have a 15% discount on two or more purchases.

Just this morning I had someone offer me $39 on a pair of Lois Hill earrings I’d reduced as an exclusive offer to $79 from its original price of approximately $175! My husband leaned over as I my jaw dropped in disbelief, and he says, “Here, let me help you with that one — DECLINE!”It seems to be happening more and more recently. I just don’t get it.

I’ve actually had a couple people basically want me to sell something at NO PROFIT! What?!?! I’m a very reasonable woman and take great pride in providing quality items.
Anyway, I feel you, my friend! 🤪😮🙄 I have no words — literally! 😶 HAHA! I thought I’d let you know I wholeheartedly understand your struggle. Thankfully my husband is ‘just’ retiring this month and we’ll have his social security check and state pension.

We lost my mom to Leukemia when she was barely 51 and I was 23. Grandma (and we; as she was my best friend since it was just my mom and I for about four years) was never quite the same again, losing her only daughter. The three of us girls did our best to be there, but I was just three years into my marriage with a two year old son (and still married to him after almost 42 years!). 🥰

All my years of servicing my patrons in the salon, I always addressed my older clients with "Miss" in front of their name. ALWAYS. As a child, I grew up in Houston, TX. It was just automatic to use phrases like, yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, no sir... and we used Miss before any woman's name.

@gems_of_glory My daughter lives on Lake Conroe 45 minutes from Houston. We sold our house in Wyoming and lived in Mongomery County for a year. Everyone we met there called women (girls) Miss so I just picked it up I guess. I call all my granddaughters and great granddaughters Miss and they love it. My daughter says it's a Southern & Texas thing.....lol. We loved Texas. I called it Wyoming 2.0. We sure miss it right now. Snow, snow and more snow!!!

I looked through about 8 or 9 hundred pieces before my phone died and I was too tired to get up and get my charger! can you tag me in the rabbit that you have? @jillatrabbit As for the beads, I gave a lot to my daughter- She makes autism jewelry and accessories. I created Craft Supply lots that were listed & there was probably beads in those, also. I hardly ever do anything with the beads anymore, most of my stuff is glued. If you want to make a listing.
