V. Smiling Sun Box Chain Threader Earring (Single)

This vintage earring is made of a silver tone metal and has a simple post on one end that is used to thread the earring. The chain is a dainty box chain with tight links, and there is a smooth smiling sun on the end opposite the post. I'm not sure if this earring ever had a mate or if it was intended to be worn asymmetrically as an accent but either way, it is currently by itself.
