The 50s were full of atomic and modern influences representing the fascination with modern materials like durable plastic and synthetics fabrics Jewelry was also influenced with trends like Modernism. While these earrings are simple in design, they are a great example of those influences. Because of WW2 materials were in short supply so they used brass, plastic, wood, that weren't in high demand by the military. I love these earrings---great design at a very affordable price.
