Pan arrived today and she wrote she is planning on using it tomorrow. I KNEW she would like it. Last year I had sent to her the 3D turkey cake pan. With her in Texas and me in Maryland its the best we can do with baking together. When she lived in Butler, PA I could get there a few times a year as it was a 4 hour trip. About the same as me going to Ocean City at the shore. I can make Pittsburgh in 3 hours on the Pennsylvania Turnpike but it takes another hour to get to the exit off the turnpike and then a half hour along country roads. She used to live all her life until about 12 years ago in Butler, PA (yes, where Trump was shot) and then moved to Kerrville where in 2024 NBC had their base to aire and cover everything for the eclipse and then this summer the horrendous and terrifying floods at the girls camp. Told Donna she sure knows how to pick some doozy places to live. And I used to think living 7 miles from Camp David was a claim to fame. That's nothing compared to where she's lived. I live about an hour outside DC to the northwest. Donna bakes bread and crackers the most. I never knew someone could make crackers at home. I was so impressed the first day I saw her I couldn't believe it. And she just grabs a few ingredients, places them on the countertop, tosses some together without looking at anything and voila, bread. Me, I'm a recipe girl for 90% of what I do in the kitchen. I make bread at times, it was one of my dad's favorite treats especially with a jar of Apple Butter. However, cakes and then cookies and pies are my joy but Donna loves to experiment with bread. So every so often I need to send her something to tempt the cake baking part of her. This was perfect, she loved it.
