A very nice quality item, but I don’t think it is actually a butter dish. I’ll have to order another to satisfy that need. It is a good bit larger than I would expect a butter dish to be; however, the dimensions were included in the listing, so I should have reviewed more closely. This is more of a serving plate. It IS very nice however, so I will find a use for it. Packaged very well. Very pretty!
