I received the Canon Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 new in the box exactly as described. I installed 4 new AAA batteries and tested it on my Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens which was mounted to a Canon 90D digital SLR camera. The PZ-E1 functioned properly by letting me zoom the lens in and out using the sliding zoom switch on the side. It worked fine. The PZ-E1 only works with the aforementioned lens by snapping in to grooves on the bottom of the lens and making electrical contact with the contacts on the lens. The design of the PZ-E1 is 9 years old and was released by Canon to allow smooth zooming of the EF-S 18-135mm USM lens when taking video.
