Great lot of vintage odds & ends items - shipping a tad slow but worth the wait!

I have had my eye on this piece for quite a long time and when the price was reduced I finally went for it. It's an excellent example of a Grand Tour micro mosaic and appears that all of the mosaic pieces are here and it may be set in obsidian. It's also possible that the pin on the back was replaced since brooches of this age were usually equipped with a simple C clasp. This one has a rollover safety clasp. The rollover part won't close all the way but given that this is going into my collection and won't be worn, that small issue is not a problem for me. Thank you so much for sharing this piece from your grandmother's collection!
