Not sheer/see thru except lace panel areas that are in places that are not too revealing (the collar/shoulder area & strip down the back). No need to layer unless you prefer. The back strip is less transparent lace than the top. Honestly, it's very lovely. The buttons are functional. Others have been pleased with it😉💖
