I'm seeing this new scam pop up all over my feed across luxury brands, so called "authorized resellers" offering NWT luxury items at crazy discounts, directing buyers to their sites and trying to get you to pay thru ????. Here are the facts (cont. in comments). There's no such thing. Unless Saks or Barney's have decided to sell on posh, no one is a post season reseller. I repeat, no one. Even the established resale sites cannot claim that they're authorized dealers of luxury brands.

ariel322 Anyone telling you oh, I'm a pro reseller or wholesaler is trying to scam you. Anyone with stock photos of an item claiming you have to order first and then the order your item is trying to scam you. Anyone who refuses to raise their price to go thru posh, is trying to scam you.

ariel322 There are authorized resellers out there, but they're legit websites acting as a subsidiary of larger retailers (hautelook, amuze, Gilt etc) they are not random women with 🅿🅿 accounts. Wanna check? Ask them to raise their price and go thru posh. It won't happen.

ariel322 What you'll receive (if you receive anything, which you probably will not) are cheap dupes you could purchase yourself for a fraction of what you're paying the so called authorized reseller.

ariel322
ariel322 How can you check? See if they've ever sold anything on posh. They won't have. They'll fill their closet with cheaper used items and then mark them sold in the title. They do this to look more legit, like an actual user, but they're here for one thing, and that's your money.

ariel322 Also, READ THE COMMENTS. There's a woman (see my other listing) who's scammed at least one user already, who's out $900. Right below that scammed user's complaint is another potential buyer asking about color availability.

ariel322 So don't do it. You think you're getting a crazy deal, what you're actually getting is nothing, and that scammer is raking in cash. The scammer from my other posting pulled in about 30k before someone blew the whistle and that's just based on the comments. Who knows how many orders she actually processed.

ariel322 And people are STILL TRYING TO SEND HER MONEY. Everyone wants a $900 nwt Celine. Everyone wants some $300 CLs. We all do. But they don't exist. You'll just be sad and out your money. Be safe and shop smart!

hrdrssr1 @ariel322 AMEN. Thanks for the awareness I can't believe people see that someone has been scammed in comments but the next line is someone asking how to get it what is wrong with people ugh!!
May 24Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @hrdrssr1 right?!? It makes me crazy! And it's the same people who are then like, posh is full of scammers and it's crazy! No! You're trying to get something crazy cheap and giving a stranger your bank info! It's on you!

hrdrssr1 @ariel322 crazy... I have been on posh for awhile and I'm trying to sell the rest of my stuff and then I'm closing shop I give great deal and get great deals on here but it's so overrun with scammers it's not worth it anymore it's so sad!! Thx again

autismom1817 @ariel322 wow, good to know! Thanks for the info! The scamming is getting worse, so tired of it!

ariel322 @kailahskloset it's really awful and I feel so badly for these women! The scammer in my other listing (her item is still up FYI) was telling these women oh, I'm a top rated seller on my platform, I've never had returns etc and it's so sad because it's all bs

autismom1817 Ugh so frustrating!!

autismom1817
autismom1817 Even the buyers on other sites are starting to scam! 😡 I sold a pair of CL on e bay and she tried to say they were damaged after a MONTH!! Like really? How many times did you wear them?!? Couldn't provide photos, ended up never sending them back! I had to wait, but the case closed and now she's trying to make the claim through 🅿️🅿️!
May 24Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @kailahskloset that's insane! That's why if I have an item with wear, I message the buyer before I accept the sale outlining all damage/defects and make sure that they respond. I then video/ photograph EVERYTHING AS I'M PACKING IT. This way there's no way they can say I misrepresented the item. I'm not here for that sh*t.

autismom1817 Ahhh, good to know - yes, I have started the videotaping now too!

foofighters
foofighters Thank you very much for posting this information. It gets so confusing and I do agree there are a ton of scammers out there. My personal belief is that I do a lot of research before purchasing anything!! Also if it looks too good to be true, then it definitely is. Also these ladies need to learn not to pay off of Poshmark and only have open conversation on Poshmark site in regards to the items that they are purchasing❤️
May 24Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @foofighters You're so welcome! That's the best advice! Yes, it's 20% more but I'd much rather pay that than have a fake item or no item and absolutely no recourse to take in the event that things go south. I really get wanting that dream item at a dream price but it's not worth the risk!

laceylace_2004
laceylace_2004 So what is the best way to sell CL? I am selling my pair for $300 because they are too small and I need the $$$ to buy another pair. I'm sick of people asking me $50 for them
Jun 09Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @laceylace_2004 Honestly, it sucks. People will ask a million questions, want additional photos, tell you they're "so serious about buying" and then offer you twenty percent of your total listing price. It's maddening. I've had better luck on e.t.sy and e.b.ay
Jun 09Reply
ariel322
ariel322 Also block those people. Make a post saying no low ball offers. I hate that so much.
Jun 09Reply
laceylace_2004
laceylace_2004 @ariel322 trust me, I told them to go look for fake ones or buy red paint, a paint brush, and purchase Payless shoes. I'm all for getting great quality for bargain prices, but $50 for $1200 shoes?????
Jun 09Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @laceylace_2004 people are cheap and rude and what kills me is that there are fake shoes selling for $300 all over the site! It's insane!
Jun 09Reply
laceylace_2004
laceylace_2004 @ariel322 exactly! I'm tempted to repost the item for the price I should be asking for them.
Jun 09Reply
ariel322
ariel322 @laceylace_2004 do it! Get your money out of it. They may take longer to sell but it won't sting when you do.

mizzrmj
mizzrmj Thanks & it’s sad how some ppl are purchasing items(i.e. clothing) for not over $22.00 & attempting to resell on Posh for triple the price they actually paid, sorry I’m not going to let my real Posh family fall for that SCAM EITHER USUALLY IF YOU THINK IT’S TOO GOOD TOO BE TRUE,@ TIMES IT IS🤷‍♀️

mimi_couture
mimi_couture Do you think stylestainsinc is legit? Sure does have a lot of high end inventory. Gucci, Fendi, CL. Etc. not selling cheap either. Not really selling much at all. Red flag?

born2shop613
born2shop613 @mimi_couture she probably orders from the ioffer China site. That what there doing.

byproxy @mimi_couture they seem authentic to me. They sell on eBay and have a lot of reviews over 2000, not one complaint

nzuniga
nzuniga @ariel322 you’re right! There are buyers (like me!) who are just waiting to find product! But sometimes it takes days of searching to find sellers who have the size or colour I want. I would NEVER low ball. $300 for CL?!? #bargain! I may sugggest $285 or $290 because hey! I want a deal. Lol BUT $50?!? I wouldn’t sell the crappiest quality at a garage sale for less than $100. Besides, CLs can be repaired. :) This is a great thread. Don’t worry! Good buyers are out there!!!!

sheibaby
sheibaby @hrdrssr1 Some of the ones in line still asking questions work with the scammers. I've been scammed on PM before & nothing was.Right now as we speak I made a listing making the scammers aware of me having pics & video of all my items & my packages when they go out.Because I just learned some woman here purchased a pair of shoes & she received something else I believe it was a bottle of shampoo or something & she's out $900.So not fair.So now I record myself packing my items & everything.
