Mar 12Reply

ghsmermaid
ghsmermaid @indianajoe With respect to shipping fees, I thought you might find this helpful. Poshmark has a 5 lb limit until the buyer is responsible for paying shipping. When fees are deducted from items on final markdowns that the seller is already either losing money on or maybe breaking even on, it destroys the possibility of any profit margin for the seller.

flsnowbunny05
flsnowbunny05 Maria I have a question. I was mailing a box that had MK rain boots, the box was large so I wrapped it with postal paper. I always wait at the post office for a receipt just because I don’t trust just leaving it there. The lady at the post office charged me $25 dollars. I didn’t think it weighed more than 5 lbs. she had the measuring tape out. So not only did it have the postage on it that the buyer paid, but I was out another$25. The boots you can see in my closet, is how large the box was.
Apr 27Reply
flsnowbunny05
flsnowbunny05 I have never gotten a straight answer as to what I should have done. Please advise. Thanking you in advance.🤪🤪
Apr 27Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @flsnowbunny05 I don’t understand. If it didn’t weigh more than 5 lbs then you didn’t need to pay extra postage. If it was over 5 lbs, you have the two options mentioned here.
Apr 27Reply
flsnowbunny05
flsnowbunny05 I think it had to do with the size of the box? Next time I send a larger box I will definitely check the weight. 😊
Apr 27Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @flsnowbunny05 Yeah $25 is way too much.
Apr 27Reply
flsnowbunny05

jessmechele
jessmechele @mlb1006 I have a question and would love anyone’s feedback... someone bought bundle of 5 pairs of men’s jeans. I upgraded my label to the 10lbs but total weight was 10.4. Now my package is not getting scanned despite my hand delivering it to post office. Could the extra .4 have been an issue? They gave me impression I was good to go but now I’m worried lol. Thanks so much for the helpful info 💞
May 17Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @jessmechele You mentioned that you went to the Post office, so didn’t they scanned it then?
May 17Reply
jessmechele
jessmechele @mlb1006 yes they did it’s just not saying scanned here on the app so I was thinking uh oh did I do something wrong. I’m new to poshmark and never sold anything quite so heavy. I was dropping off items for 2 other sales that both say scanned by usps on their status but the big box doesn’t
May 17Reply
jessmechele
jessmechele @mlb1006 it may just be a fluke I just thought I’d ask. I’m prob overthinking it just a bit paranoid since it was such a large order.
May 17Reply

happyraven
happyraven Thanks! That happened to me today when I sold six pairs of discounted shoes to one person… The 10 pound box label completely took all of the sales balance! It would’ve been more expensive at the post office, though. But hat’s OK, it’s a learning experience, she will be happy, and I will hopefully build happy and loyal clientele!

_the_rack Have you ever mailed something over 10 pounds? One of my bedding sets with many likes weighs 15 :(
Jun 25Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @_the_rack No I have not had anything over 5lbs. You should put the extra cost of shipping on the final price so you don’t have to pay extra.
Jun 26Reply
_the_rack
_the_rack If 10 pounds is $20 extra I wonder how much 15 would be 🤔
Jun 26Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @_the_rack You should reach out to PM and ask them how much and then compare that with what the Post Office would charge you.
Jun 26Reply

Jun 26Reply

prettydeville
prettydeville I sold a baby pillow and though the box only weighed 7 lbs, the post office told me even the upgraded $19.99 heavier weight label from Posh didn’t cover the overage postage cost from box being “oversized”. Have you ever had this issue? I emailed Posh as I see plenty of people have sold this type of item and I’m sure no one paid $117 priority or $64 ground to ship theirs! Will let you know if they have a solution for this situation. 💕💕💕💕
Jun 29Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @prettydeville OMG that’s how much they told you it would cost? ! I’ve never had an oversized package yet but that’s insane! Please let me know what they say.
Jun 29Reply
ivymasters
ivymasters @prettydeville WOW, I would definately put that thing in one of those storage bags then and suck all the air out of it so that it would fit in a smaller box!
Jul 05Reply
prettydeville
prettydeville @ivymasters @mlb1006 Ended up just cancelling but Posh says their shipping label (whatever weight up to 10 lbs) only supports a box up to a combined length and girth of 108”. Good to know! So even though the dockatot I sold had a combined length and girth of about 75” I couldn’t find a long flat box to ship it in. Whomp whomp!

jcwolf
jcwolf I had a customer purchase a large bundle (14 items total). When I weigh my box on a bathroom scale, it says 9.6 lbs. I understand how to upgrade my shipping label and purchase the new label for $19.95, but can I use the original shipping label that was emailed to me and package 5 lbs with that label and then just purchase a heavier weight poshmark label for $3.99 and package the remaining clothes...so the buyer receives 2 boxes?
Jul 26Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @jcwolf I’m not sure if you can have two separate packages for the same buyer. I’ve never had to deal with such a large bundle. I’ll tag my PFF who has shipped big bundles to customer. @tapshe
Jul 26Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @tapshe Sheri can you help this Posher with shipping a large bundle package. 😘
Jul 26Reply
tapshe
tapshe @jcwolf @mlb1006 I agree with with Maria. I don’t think you can send two separate ones. In the past I’ve weighed all the iambs before shipping to find the cheapest way to do it. And then sometimes we just make two separate sales as the $14 obviously would be cheaper than the 19. Also depending on the size I have negotiated that I would pay for one of the shipping but that’s up to you.
Jul 26Reply
tapshe
tapshe @jcwolf So you have the option of possibly canceling the shipment and doing two separate sales or just packing it up and go to the post office have them weigh it and see how much additional you would owe. Then determine if you just ship it shipping or if it’s significant balance then you may want to address it a different way with the buyer. hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

poppiesposhmark Do I understand the shipping correctly: if I sale an item that weighs 9 1/2 lbs. the buyer pays $6.95- then I upgrade to a 10 lb label and pay $19.95— making a total cost of $26.90 to ship a 9 1/2 pound package?

Sep 10Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @karlie63 Yes that’s correct! But you the seller pays the extra shipping cost. Also always go to post office and ask how much extra postage would cost. It may be cheaper than downloading the extra label.
Sep 10Reply
karlie63
karlie63 @mlb1006 Gotcha ...and with the post office these days size does matter...I am in Michigan...if I were shipping to California shipping may cost 80.00 on some things compared to someone on the east coast say New York...would be lets say 24.00 ..the location is huge on shipping cost...sometimes postal service is better sometimes poshmark is better...I live in a tiny town and our postal workers are a bit behind the times so I would have to check with them I guess before printing any label.

csrrsc
csrrsc Fyi - I tried to do Option #2 and my post office said it was not possible for me to pay them the difference for a heavier package, because the label generated does not show them what has already been paid for the shipping.
Oct 10Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @csrrsc Really? Even if you told her the postage is $6.79 she wouldn’t let you pay the extra postage.
Oct 10Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @csrrsc BTW, was your package one item that was over 5 lbs or multiple items?
Oct 10Reply
csrrsc
csrrsc @mlb1006 yes, I shared that, but she said it's not on the label so they had no way to confirm. Mine was a bundle and it was just barely over the 5lbs - under 6, the postal worker actually said "they may not catch it in scanning, you could try sending it" so I did, and it was delivered w no issue. But I would not count on that! USPS is cracking down a bit.
Oct 10Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @csrrsc I guess it depends on the Post Office. The one I go to told me I can pay the difference but I decided to upgrade my label instead and I printed two copies and shipped my two heavy items separately with no problems.

mlb1006 @st_ahlman_j311 That’s strange she said that! You can definitely pay the PO the extra shipping. Once they weigh the package and tell you how much it would cost, you subtract the Poshmark shipping fee of $6.79 and you pay the difference for the extra postage fee.

mzaffi Be careful on upgraded labels. Calculating for my item i thought I had to have misread, so i emailed them this : "I apologize if this is a redundant question, but after reading the FAQ I’m not completely clear. I think what I’m reading is if for example i sell an item for $50 that weighs 7.5 lbs, my seller fees are 20% ($10) + $11.99 label upgrade fee, totaling $21.99 - which is somewhere around 44% of sale? The extra 2.5 lb therefore more than doubles seller fee". I hadn't misread.
Nov 20Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @mzaffi You’re correct! The seller pays for the extra label plus Poshmark still takes 20%.
Nov 20Reply
soocuteco
soocuteco @mlb1006 @mzaffi why don’t they credit us the postage the the customer already paid?? I just paid an upgraded 10 lb label for $19!!! If the customer paid the label for 5lb already because they made the offer. Why do we not get the credit for the first $5 lb!

Dec 03Reply
camp8
camp8 Has anyone ever shipped using FedEx or UPS for overweight oversized packages? My package is 11 lbs but ships as 19 lbs so FedEx costs less than USPS. PM has not responded to my question and I want to ship today.
Dec 05Reply
camp8
camp8 @suziestyle16 I’ve got a similar issue. 19 pounds. Poshmark told me to use my own label but I want to find out if that means I can ship using UPS or FedEx. They told me to send them the tracking info. Not getting speedy response from customer service.
Dec 05Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @jesst42 Oh I didn’t know this! I’ll check it out!

Dec 05Reply
collectiblez
collectiblez @mlb1006 I feel like it's not true but heard it from a posher on reddit. All I know is 27 bucks for shipping a 10 pound package is ridiculous and highway robbery
Dec 05Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @jesst42 It’s definitely overpriced. I prefer not to sell items over 5 lbs.
Dec 05Reply

Dec 05Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @camp8 I agree! I wish they had a better response time!
Dec 05Reply
camp8
camp8 @jesst42 my issue as a first time seller is that I was unaware the max label weight is 10# through Poshmark. My fault I guess but if they don’t answer me I may as well cancel the sale and sell to the buyer outside of the app.
Dec 05Reply

collectiblez
collectiblez thought I'd update my situation in case it can help anyone. you CAN pay the difference at USPS you just have to be very persistent. A post lady was reluctant to do it but I took my time and waited for her to get a guy to help me. He charged me a very cheap rate for 10lbs because he subtracted the cost of the 5lbs already paid for by the posh label!! I'm sure he would have done the same thing for packages over 10lbs too. Hopefully that's helpful.
Dec 07Reply
collectiblez
collectiblez @camp8 I would try to ship your 11lb item with the posh label and just pay the difference at the post and be very persistent in doing so. If all goes well they'll measure and weigh you package, calculate the cost for it, subtract the cost of the 5lbs and boom! shipped!
Dec 07Reply
camp8
camp8 @jesst42 glad it worked for you. Unfortunately my box had to go as 19 pounds (dim-weight). $55 USPS. My only option was to cancel the sale. Live and learn. Oversized overweight items don’t belong on Poshmark. Especially when the support is non existent.

Dec 07Reply
collectiblez
collectiblez @camp8 $55 after removing the 5lb cost? That's criminal, especially considering what other places charge. You're right big things belong on ebay where we can at least choose the cheapest shipping. Anything over 2 pounds seems to be crazy overpriced at usps :( Think I'll be removing my bundle feature too just in case I get another heavy bundle.
Dec 07Reply

hsimplyposh
hsimplyposh @karlie63 I ship from CA to anywhere in the USA, the postage is a major handicap for me as well selling on the Poshmark platform, at this time they do not offer USPS retail ground ( i.e. box 20x20x10 etc) to NY the freight would be around $23 (up to 9 days travel -time), yet priority mail, under 5 pounds, same box would be about $65. I wish Poshmark would give the seller a choice for larger items to enter the USPS/FedEx etc. routing number for the buyer/seller to track the package.

prettierpieces
prettierpieces @soocuteco This is the same question I have ... the seller is paying the for the TOTAL weight, not just the difference? My package weighs 8 lbs, you would think I would chose the 3.99 option (6lbs) to COVER THE DIFF, right? But I think what I am reading here is that I need to choose the 11.97 label for an 8 lb box, is that right?
Feb 08Reply
soocuteco
soocuteco @beachstyle it seems more like they are voiding whatever postage was paid for in the sale. And the seller basically has to pay for the total weight
Feb 08Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @beachstyle No the seller pays the extra shipping fee if it’s more than 5 lbs. The buyer gets charged the $7.11 shipping rate. You are paying the extra.
Feb 08Reply
prettierpieces
prettierpieces @mlb1006 So if my package weighs 8 lbs do I choose the label option that adds the difference to the buyers label ... ie: 6 lbs option + shipping paid by the buyer would be 11lbs right, but when I did that the new label only shows 6lbs. I think I need to choose the 8lb label for 11.95 - but - that means I’m paying for the total weight, not just the difference. Unless my totally misunderstanding.
Feb 08Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @beachstyle Yes upgrade to 8 lbs for $11.97 which you will be charged by Poshmark.
Feb 08Reply
prettierpieces
prettierpieces @mlb1006 ok that’s what I thought, thanks for confirming. What happens to the up to 5lb label from the buyer? Feb 08Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @beachstyle Unfortunately we the sellers pay the extra fee which I find to be overpriced. The buyer only gets charged the standard shipping rate of $7.11.

kristenharris2
kristenharris2 @beachstyle My post office gives me a credit for what their retail cost is for 5 pounds, not the posh negotiated rate that the buyer already paid for shipping. Then they take the difference between the 5 pounds retail rate and whatever my overage weight charge is and that’s what I pay. It’s almost always the cheaper way to go vs. upgrading label through Poshmark. So what I’d suggest doing is going to your local post office before upgrading through Poshmark.

red_amelie @kristenharris2 A post office an employee kept insisting to just pay the difference at the store and they'll charge the difference to the account. Is this what you're referring to in regards going thru the post office first before upgrading the label thru Poshmark? I was confused with what account the employee was referring to and just said I'd have them weigh it and would rather go back home and repackage/print a new label if needed.
Feb 25Reply
kristenharris2
kristenharris2 @red_amelie No, I pay the difference out of my pocket at the post office. What I believe your post office was saying to you is if there is a shortage due they would charge back your account which is really PM’s Endicia account where the prepaid label was paid/generated from. If this happens, you will most likely see a charge sooner or later from PM to your account balance to payback the shortage the post office charged to PM’s Endicia account. Hopefully that makes sense.
Feb 26Reply
kristenharris2
kristenharris2 @red_amelie That’s why you need to explain that you don’t want it charged back to the vendor account, you prefer to have them figure out the difference you owe so you can pay it yourself.
Feb 26Reply
kristenharris2
kristenharris2 @bbs617 It makes me mad that they all aren’t on the same page. It’s not that difficult to figure out. Sorry girl!
Feb 26Reply
red_amelie
red_amelie @kristenharris2 Will the post office add additional postage as a separate label or will they create a completely brand new one to cover the difference?
Feb 26Reply
kristenharris2
kristenharris2 @red_amelie No, they leave your label and then add something called a short paid label if I remember correctly. It’s a small postage sticker that they add.
Feb 26Reply
red_amelie
red_amelie @kristenharris2 Got it. Hopefully I'll remember this next time. Have only gone over the 5lbs once. Someone bought 2 coats at the same time. Thanks for the tip!

kattakitty
kattakitty @prettydeville Holy crap. Your post office is horrible and uneducated. If I can google it and/or read the answer directly from usps.com, then a person getting paid to do a govt job should know the rules. A baby blanket? Your package L + W + H can be up to 108 inches. 108. SO I can mail a painting that is 40 x 26 x 5 inches in the box if it's under the PM 10lb max. (40 +26 + 5 = 71 inches = less than 108) Print the policy from usps.com, march back to the P.O. and hold out your hand. Get a refund.
Mar 01Reply
kattakitty
kattakitty I had been referring to the chart for extra weight until tonight, I found your listing here and was wishing customers understood how much extra we pay. It's good to post this so they know. Anyway now I see that it is 4 bucks per extra pound. Now I won't forget anymore. It's + 4, 8, 12, 16, or 20 dollars. For now, ha. It is really easy to go over 5lbs for boots, bedding, coats. You can save some box weight by using 2-3 layers of poly ship bags for soft items. No heels, hard items, delicate stuff.
Mar 01Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @kingyanjui I’m not sure. I would email Poshmark and ask them if there’s a weight limit.

Mar 04Reply
derco312
derco312 @mlb1006 posh labels only go up to 10 lbs. My box is 12 lbs.
Mar 04Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @derco312 I’m not really sure, but you can print the 10 lb label and ask the post office how much you need to pay for the extra 2 lbs.
Mar 04Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 Another option is to cancel the order and make two custom listings and you can still give them the price they paid and the shipping for both would be less than what you’re paying for a 12lb upgrade fee.
Mar 04Reply
babybirdie
babybirdie Could you help me? I’ve sold my first overweight pcmage. I still don’t understand. The first 5 lbs is paid for by the customer, my package weighs 8 lbs, so I would have to pay an additional $11.97 for 3 more lbs? Or the total shipping is $11.97 so I end up paying another $5 and change.
Mar 04Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @babybirdie Unfortunately the upgrade shipping label fee is very expensive for the seller. For an 8 lb package you the seller will need to pay $11.97.

gr8tfindz4less
gr8tfindz4less @mlb1006 Question for you. Am I understanding this right, only box size restriction is total length and girth is no bigger than 108"? Do you not get charged dimensional weight? Ebay and at the PO counter they go by dimensional weight meaning that even if my package was under 5 lbs but it was bigger than 12 x 12 x 12 then there is a huge increase in price. From everything I am reading on Posh size does not matter as long as not over 108".
Mar 06Reply

bshaff533
bshaff533 @_the_rack The buyer pays their regular shipping price- unless you have given them a discount- then you-the seller -pay the additional $8.... you can adjust your price to include the extra shipping on a single item that you list And when you are pricing a bundle- you can consider the cost of shipping and make an offer that covers or offsets the shipping cost you will pay... all depends on what you are trying to make/ willing to sell the items for. I use a scale to ensure I know the weight :)

Apr 22Reply
vickysecretpnk
vickysecretpnk Wow, so if it's 10 pounds that would be the buyer paying $6.95 shipping and the seller paying 19.95 for about $27 total shipping. If you offer free shipping than the seller pays the entire $27 shipping fee. Ouch!
Apr 22Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @vickysecretpnk Yes that’s correct.
Apr 22Reply
betterwithage66
betterwithage66 @flsnowbunny05 That makes no sense. From my understanding (and my plans/strategies), as long as the package doesn't exceed the 108" (length x 2 + girth x 2) limitations, I thought it was still free shipping. I was planning on trying to sell some of my large buy light-weight items and take advantage of low shipping costs. I researched Poshmark best I could and never found where a package shipping cost went up due solely to package size as long as it was under 5 lbs! What is truth?
Apr 22Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @betterwithage66 Correct, there’s no extra shipping fee on packages up to 5 lbs but there is a restriction on package size per usps policy.

gramspenthouse I tried using a USPS Medium Flat Rate box and the clerk tells me that the box is not the right type because it says Medium Flat Rate on the box (medium flat rate cost $15.50) and Poshmark only paid $6.70 for the lable. I showed her where it says “All Priority Mail Packaging including Flat Rate” at the bottom. She told me that my lable still isn’t sufficient to cover medium boxes, only envelopes. FYI my package was under 5 LBS. Has anyone ran into this issue?

jellylovesricky
jellylovesricky Question: I have a package that weighs just under 10 lbs. Are the extra weight charges additional to the 5 lb limit. For example, if I choose 6 lbs (3.99 subcharge) , is the weight limit now 11 lbs? Or would that be 6 lbs limit?
May 06Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @jellylovesricky The buyer already pays for the 5 lb limit of $7.11 and the extra weight shipping fee will be payed by the seller. So if your package weights 6 lbs, you the seller will need to upgrade the label and pay the extra $3.99.

kycardinal Tks mlb. Couldn't find an answer above. Poshmark only has the option of going up to 10lbs (at an addition cost of $20 to seller). I have a package for a single item that is just over that mark at 11 pounds. Is it possible to use the 5 pound label attached to the email sent from Poshmark after the sale and then pay for the additional weight when I take the item to the post office? If so, will the tracking number be the same so it can be properly tracked by everyone - buyer, seller & Poshmark?
May 23Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @kycardinal I’m not sure. You can try and ask the post office if you can pay the difference in weight. Some post office give you a hard time with that. Hopefully if they allow it, it may be less. Let me know if it works out.

hc990
hc990 this is a bundle of clothes and a purse that weighs 10 lbs. are you telling me that doesn't belong on poshmark,?
Jul 13Reply
hc990
hc990 I just read some comments and I would like to tell what I found out. my PO says you can't add postage from them to the label from posh. also, I accidentally put a label on a package which I had already used. that person is correct. it went to the address on it although it was the wrong address and it had already been used. before this I thought once you used the postage of $7.11 the label would be no good but apparently you can use it as many times as you want.
Jul 14Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @hc990 Poshmark doesn’t support packages over 10 lbs. If you do send it, the buyer will get charged for the additional fee.
Jul 14Reply
hc990
hc990 all I see is bundle, bundle, bundle. I guess it should be bundle but keep it small. no selling too much. it's against posh policy to sell big bundles 🤨🤨🤔. maybe that's why I see all that old used wrinkled underwear on there. it doesn't weigh much.
Jul 14Reply
hc990
hc990 @mlb1006 regarding your remark about not selling heavy items. you sell jeans and boots. I guarantee it wouldn't take many pairs of jeans and boots to weigh 10 lbs or more.
Jul 14Reply
hc990
hc990 @mlb1006 I will send it. since the buyer bought it I'm sure she expects to receive it. it's just some clothes, jewelry and 2 purses. it doesn't take that much. especially if there is any denim involved.
Jul 14Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @hc990 If a bundle gets too heavy, you have the option to separate into smaller bundles and let the buyer know that they would need to purchase the separate bundles.
Jul 14Reply
hc990
hc990 @mlb1006 I know that now. I haven't been at this very long but I'm learning. now I think I can judge how much it might weigh and get the buyer to split it up. I hope that won't be too much trouble for a buyer and make her change her mind.

rodgersthatx06
rodgersthatx06 I can't seem to find an answer about shipping large wall art. If it weighs under 5 lbs then Its the 7$? Over 5 to 10 is up to $20. Does the size of the item matter? For example a piece of art that is 5' x 5' lets say. Thanks.
Jul 17Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @rodgersthatx06 Poshmark uses USPS Priority Mail for all US orders. Per USPS policy, the maximum combined length and girth of the box used must be no greater than 108". This means that the combined measurement of the longest side and the distance around the thickest part of the box cannot be more than 108".
Jul 17Reply
rodgersthatx06
rodgersthatx06 @mlb1006 Length and girth - Does that mean from corner to corner or around the longest side? Thanks so much!
Jul 17Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @rodgersthatx06 It’s longest length + girth Measure the width of the package, rounding to the nearest inch. Multiply this number by 2. Measure the height of the package, rounding to the nearest inch. Multiply this number by 2. Add these two numbers together. This is your girth.

madaboutamelia
madaboutamelia @mlb1006 sorry but I am really confused now reading this again. If a package is between 5-9.9lbs who pays for the shipping?
Aug 03Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @madaboutamelia The buyer pays up to 5 lbs. Anything more than 5 lbs the seller pays.
Aug 03Reply
madaboutamelia
madaboutamelia @mlb1006 ok maybe I misunderstood what you said before, but honestly I have shipped many items over 5lbs and I have never been charged the additional shipping fee
Aug 03Reply
mlb1006

mauishopgirl
mauishopgirl This thread was helpful, TY. For dimensions (DIM), USPS will charge DIM for packages > 1 cu ft (h x w x d = > 1728). If >1728 then divide by 166 to get the pounds rate level, which will be >10 lbs at that point. Just google “dimension USPS resellers”. So I try my best to reduce my box 📦 size so it’s below 1729 by cutting the 📦 down.

ntllyc
ntllyc Hi thank you for making this post. If I am paying for extra postage and buying a new label does that mean the previous label is just going to waste and that the buyer bought it for nothing? I would have to repurchase a new label ?
Aug 15Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @ntllyc Once you upgrade your label, you the seller will pay for the extra label fee and the buyer will pay the standard 5 lb shipping fee.

fashion_weeks
fashion_weeks @mlb1006, if the buyer pays the initial $7.11 for shipping and the actual cost is $11.97 (this was the actual amount for a package I sent) shouldn’t Poshmark only take the difference from the original shipping amount? If they don’t, it seems that the buyer and seller are paying for shipping? Please clarify for me, if possible. TY
Aug 15Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @fashion_weeks I don’t seem to understand your question. The buyer and the seller both pay for shipping in an over weight package.

kav4454
kav4454 question... apologies if this was already asked I just sold a bedding bundle and didn't realize that I might have to upgrade the shipping label since the item plus the box exceeds 10 lbs. Would it be feasible to use the original label for standard 5 lb limit and then pay the additional postage from the post office? I believe I would just have to pay the difference instead of $20 for a new label.
Sep 04Reply

mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @mlb1006 they took it from my credit. Curious though, What if your weight is in the middle of the whole numbers. For example the package I just sent was 8 lbs. 5 oz. I had to come up with the postage for the extra 9 pounds which made it was $15 I had to pay.
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @ghsmermaid they buyer still pays up to 5lbs. After that the seller makes up the difference.
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @flsnowbunny05 probably because it past the threshold of how large the package could be. There is a max size on the box too
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @flsnowbunny05 Ashlie the buyer has to cover the postage up to five dollars. The seller has to make up the difference it would cost for the extra postage. I can only imagine what it would’ve cost the seller if we were responsible for the whole amount
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @simplycassandra that’s in addition to what the buyer is already paying so technically the postage is $3.99 plus the $7.11 to send a 6 pound package
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @missymarie1919 Actually I believe Poshmark is actually cheapest. My 8 1/2 pound box would’ve cost me 60 some dollars to send by post office on my own versus the additional 16 I had to come up with. So my box is now costing only about $23 to send versus the post office wanting 60 something
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @mlb1006 An 8 pound label would only cover up to 8 pounds he would have to go up to the 9 pound label
Sep 07Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @mrsnordeen Hi from what I’ve heard, if a package is 8.5 lbs, an 8 lb label would work.
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @mlb1006 that’s what I thought but the PO by me told me to go with nine. They would have returned the package to me, sent it on asking the buyer for the extra postage, or charge me if it was scanned while I waited. It’s so much cheaper to add the extra pound through Poshmark than to risk what the post office will charge.
Sep 07Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @mrsnordeen ok thanks I’ll look into it and see what Poshmark says.
Sep 07Reply
mrsnordeen
mrsnordeen @mlb1006 I would be interested to know what they say. But either way I figured it was a small investment on my part to up it another pound just to make sure. But anyway, let me know because im curious to see what they say. Who knows, maybe my particular says it one way and another something different. I’m going to ask the one by work too.

danielazariah Question, to anyone that can help me. I recently sent out a package that was @ 5lbs and 7oz on my scale, would that still be considered part of the “up to 5lbs free label upgrade” or not?
Sep 09Reply
mlb1006
mlb1006 @danielazariah Hi I was under the assumption that it was ok as long as it’s not 6 lbs, but according to Poshmark you should use the upgrade label of 6 lbs.

acolich
acolich Wow. I really wish that Poshmark stated more clearly somewhere that their shipping doesn't support packages over 10 lbs. I just sold a stroller on here, and with packaging weighs over 20 lbs. I contacted customer service to see if I can pay for my own label through FedEx (I'm happy to pay for it myself at this point) and still have the item track so that I can get paid, but may end up just having to cancel the order.
Nov 03Reply

Nov 14Reply
acolich
acolich @amandar811 nope. I ended up canceling the order and selling to the same person on another app. I just didn’t want to risk something happening like it getting lost or stolen or the buyer claiming it never showed up, and me being out the $$$.
