I see this as a work of art. I have had it for many years but don't know it's history. It was something else at one time turned into a pin. I would suggest that it is very old and totally hand made. I don't know the metal but hints of brass coming through the finish. I would guess the cabochon 'stones' are glass but may be gems?? Buy it for the love of art like I did and you will have a fabulous and unique piece of jewelry.
