how does it close on the inside?

@annelevenia Hi! So this is a true wrap dress where the tie on one side slides through an opening on the opposite seam and then you’d wrap that tie around your waist and tie back at the front with the other tie. The ties are the only closure. I’ve added photos so hopefully you can see what I’m talking about. Thanks so much for asking!

@bohoballerina with the dress laid flat and without stretching the fabric the length from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem on the back measures 42" for the XS and 42 1/2" for the small. From the top of the waistband to the hem on the back of the dress it measures 27" for the XS and 27 1/2" for the small. I hope this helps! Thanks for asking...Kelly :)

@bohoballerina I'm so sorry the photos don't show the length well. The dress on the JCrew model shows that it falls just below the knee.
