Archive- worthy looks from one of the most iconic and important collections of the 2000s- the Fall 2006 Balenciaga collection during the Nicolas Ghesquiere era. Ghesquiere leveraged Balenciaga's vast couture archives and designed a modern take on an original piece from the 1960s. The result is this sublime cocoon wool jacket with a window pane print- as seen in look on the runway. The ornate buttons, hidden placket, fabric covered buttons, and panels aligned in an exacting manner so the pattern is continuous, are just some of the demi-couture-like features.
