This comedy "FREAKY FRIDAY" tells the story of a widowed successful writer of self help books and her teenage daughter. They are constantly at odds with each other. The daughter plays the guitar in an up and coming rock band and she resents the fact her mother is remarrying. Two days before the wedding rehearsal they go to lunch at their favorite Chinese restaurant and bicker throughout the meal. They receive an oddly worded fortune cookie. The next morning they awaken in the other's body. The mother now has to attend high school and the daughter is the guest at a talk show to promote her mother's newest book.
