@lizm12 hi there. This bag is from my own personal collection (all bags I am selling are 😊). I had purchased it already preowned and strap and the bag are both in good vintage condition.

@lizm12 This is from 1996 1997. I would say this is more of a shoulder rather than a crossbody. Strap drop is 9.5 to 17 inches

@lizm12 I live in NYC and there’s an old family owned cobbler business that I’ve been taking all of my bags to for repair. They specialize in high end luxury pieces. This bag has not been repainted either.

@lizm12 I don’t believe so. It’s only 17 inches long. You’d need it to measure 19 to 22 inches for it to cross body.

@esteej72 Oh man! Boo! I was thinking all of the sizes in this style came with a long CB strap because the smaller size, 8.5” vs 10”, does! So sorry to waste your time, sadly!!

@lizm12 Not at all. No worries. My friend bought another Chanel from me and she took it to this cobbler. They ended up matching metal to it to make it crossbody and they matched the leather for the strap too. It only cost her $75. She absolutely loves the bag the way it is now. I have two other Chanel’s in my shop (white and tan) which definitely are cross bodies but I understand you would want a black one. Unfortunately this one is not a crossbody.
